Police partners NIS to tackle crime in Enugu

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, has pledged to partner with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to tackle crime and criminality in the state.

Danmallam made the disclosure when the Comptroller of NIS, Enugu State Command, Mrs Dora Amahiam and key officers of her command, paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

He said more vibrant inter-security agency collaboration will bring about improved security and safety in the state.

The commissioner noted that the command had maintained a robust and steady cooperation with other sister security agencies in the state in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

“The command under my watch shall insist on maintenance of a more vibrant inter-agency collaboration, which is to be further achieved through various notable joint programmes.

“I will also assure you of the support of the command at ensuring that the immigration service achieves her set goals”, he assured.

Earlier, Amahiam told the commissioner that she came to cement the existing relationship between the police command and immigration service in the state.

She, however, solicited the support of the police to enable immigration service achieve her set goals and objectives in the state.
