FCT Police Command gets new Commissioner

Mr Bala Ciroma on Thursday assumed office as the new Commissioner of Police for the Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A statement by the command’s Spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said Ciroma took over from Mr Sadiq Bello after a handing-over ceremony.

Ciroma holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Geography from the University of Maiduguri.

Manzah said Ciroma, who had served the force in different capacities, attended several local and foreign courses.

“He is an alumni member of Hong Kong University, where he bagged a Post Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies. He is a member of Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE),”he said.

He said Ciroma assured residents of his willingness to partner with spirited individuals, groups and all security agencies in the fight against crimes and criminality in the territory.
