JTB boss commends Bauchi for increased revenue generation

The Chairman, Joint Tax Board (JTB), Mr Tunde Fowler, has commended  Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service (BSIRS) for generating N7.04 billion from Jan. to Sept. 2018.

Fowler, who gave the commendation on Monday during the opening of a two-day JTB meeting in Bauchi, said that the figure surpassed the N4.36 billion for the whole of 2017, also praised BSIRS for initiating mechanism to boost the state revenue.

In his speech, the Governor of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, said his administration employed strategies to boost the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and blocked leakages.

The governor, who said that the Service was given autonomy to deliver its mandate without any interference, lauded it for taking stride toward shifting from manual to a new technology.
