NPS fetes officers, others in Lagos

The Lagos Command of the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) on Thursday commended its personnel on their performance in the outgoing year and charged them to do more in the coming year.

The Lagos State Controller of Prisons, Mr Tunde Ladipo, gave the commendation at the end of year party held at the state headquarters.

The event, tagged “Giving Back”, also attracted senior officers from sister security agencies and well-wishers of the service.

Ladipo said the party was organised annually to appreciate officers’ hard work as well as to thank God for His kindness.

He said it was also to boost the morale of the officers for more efficiency.

” This end of the year party is organised to commend our officers for a job well done and to support them socially,” he said.

Ladipo said that the Nigeria Prisons had witnessed a lot of transformation and repositioning under the leadership of the Controller General of Nigeria Prisons, Alhaji Ja,afaru Ahmed

“We thank God for our CG who repositioned the agency.

” Our jail delivery has improved, some of the inmates are now degree holders and some studying PhD as a result of encouragement from the command,” Ladipo said.

He also used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of the command since he took over the mantle of leadership as the state controller.

Ladipo listed some of the achievements as renovation of offices at the state headquarters and approval/  building of Creche at the prison staff school managed by PROWA among others.

The personnel in attendance and invited guests took to the dancing floor in celebration at the event.

Pastor Taiwo Olaoye, General Overseer, Christ Jesus Win Ministry commended the Ladipo on his effort to reposition the command.

He said that the state command had witnessed tremendous changes during his tenure as the Controller.
