Ilorin records first rain in 2019

Some parts of Ilorin metropolis, on Tuesday, recorded the first rain in 2019.

TBI Africa said that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the rain, which lasted less than one hour, brought relief to residents, who have been under hot weather condition for months.

The rains started at the early hours of Tuesday when several residents of the affected areas were still asleep.

There was no record of storm or thunder during the period the rain lasted.

Some of the areas the rain fell are Abata-Shuban, Pakata Adeta, lta-elefun Baboko Anifowoshe, and Oloje among others.

A resident of Abata-Shubanu, Alfa Abubakar Mahmood in an interview, noted that the rain was a great blessing and relief, as it had a cooling effect.

Mrs Bolaji Ramat, who resides at Ita-elefun, area of Alanamu, also described the rainfall as a welcome development and a great relief.
