PDP gubernatorial candidate promises inclusive govt, donates N1.5m to Igbo community in Kaduna

Malam Isa Ashiru, Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Sunday, promised to run an all inclusive government if elected.

Ashiru who made the pledge during a townhall meeting with Igbo community in Kaduna also promised a seat for the Igbos and other ethnic groups in his cabinet.

He assured the Igbo community of his commitment for a people-oriented government that promotes unity in diversity and peaceful coexistence for development to thrive.

”If elected, I will reverse the current social segregation in Kaduna along religious and ethnic lines due to mistrust and suspicion which has continued to keep the people divided.

”I will do all I can if given the mandate to take Kaduna people to the old good days where we live side by side irrespective of our differences so that together we can live in peace and develop our dear state,” he said.

He urged the Igbo community to stay in Kaduna and vote, assuring them of maximum security throughout the election period.

He also donated N1.5 million to the Igbo community towards the building of Igbo Civic Centre for meetings and social gathering.

Responding, Mr Chris Nnoli, President General of the Igbo Community Welfare Association in Kaduna, promised to mobilise his people to fully participate in the election.

According to him, the Igbo community are not going anywhere, but will stay back and vote massively to ensure that the candidate of their choice wins.

”I assure you that we will mobilise all our people to participate fully in the election that is why non of us is going anywhere.

”We strongly pray to God to bless your ambition and hope that if elected you will carry everyone along and run a government that will serve the interest of all in the state,” he said.—-NAN
