Election: Police intercept 37 vehicles for violating restriction order in 2 Kaduna LGAs

Mr Emeka Nwonyi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of elections in Southern Kaduna, said the police had intercepted over 37 vehicles with suspicious persons in Jema’a and Zangon Kataf Local Government Areas, Kaduna State, on election Day.

Nwonyi told newsmen in Madakiya, Jema’a local government, that the vehicles were intercepted for violating the order banning movement of motorists not engaged in election duties.

According to him, those intercepted had no reason whatsoever to be on the road, but added that they had been taken to Zonkwa Police Division for further investigation.

He assured residents of the area of adequate security as they come out to exercise their franchise.——-NAN
