INEC declares APC’s AbdulRazaq governor-elect in Kwara

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the winner of the governorship elections in Kwara.

The Returning Officer for the governorship election, Prof Mohammed Sanusi Liman declared AbdulRazaq winner after the collation of results from the 16 local government of the state.

Lima, who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lafia declared the APC candidate winner having satisfied the requirement of the law.

TBI Africa said the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that AbdulRazaq scored a total of 331, 546 votes to defeat his closest rival, Razak Atunwa of the PDP that polled 114, 754 votes.

The APC candidate led Atunwa in all the 16 local governments with wide marging.

The candidate of the All Progressives Alliance (APA), came third with 1, 163 votes.

The Returning Officer said the total number of registered voters in the state is 1,376,372, while a total of 464,393 voters were accredited for the election.

He added that there were 453,433 valid votes recorded while 9,994 votes were invalid.

NAN reports that the Governor-elect would be presented with Certificate of Return by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Malam Garba Attahiru-Madami during the week.
