Oyo governorship: PDP, Lanlehin congratulate Makinde over victory

By Giwa SHILE

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the South-West Zone has congratulated Oyo governor-elect, Mr Seyi Makinde, over his  victory.

The Chairman of the party in the zone, Dr Eddy Olafeso and Zonal Secretary, Bunmi Jenyo, said the victory was the result of Makinde’s antecedents and the strong will of the  people of the state.

“Without an iota of doubt, the Ibadan-born politician shall do the people as well as the PDP proud  in the discharge of his duties and responsibilities as the governor of Oyo State from May 29, 2019.

“Makinde’s disposition to the ideals of a pragmatic political party and masses’ well-being  across the state must be commended, appreciated and celebrated,” it said.

It said that the governor-elect must also be applauded for his doggedness, resilience and focus which served as the cardinal point for winning at the polls.

“While all hands must be on deck to support the incoming administration of Makinde, we pray for God’s guidance and protection, wisdom and understanding to better the lives of Oyo indigenes from maladministration,” the party said.

Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin, the ADC governorship candidate,  also congratulated Makinde on his successful outing, describing it as a victory for the people of the state.

Lanlehin, who stepped down for Makinde, commended the governor-elect  for his doggedness, focus and commitment to improving  the lives of the people through philanthropy and people oriented initiatives.

“This has ensured his prominence since entering politics in 2002. I urge the governor-elect to deliver good governance anchored on fresh ideas and brimming with a new ideology, just like his moniker “Omi Tuntun,” he said.—-NAN
