Nigeria wins two bronze at International Open Canoe Sprint in India

Two Nigerian female athletes on Sunday won two bronze medals at the ongoing International Open India Canoe Sprint Championships.

TBI Africa said the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ayomide Bello won bronze in the C1 female 500m, while Blessing Amusar and Hello won another bronze in the C2 double female 500m.
Bunmi Oluode, Secretary of the Nigeria Rowing, Sailing and Canoe Federation (NRSCF), told NAN from India that four athletes are representing the country at the competition.
Oluode said that the Federation was delighted with the athletes’ performance, owing to the competitive atmosphere in India.
“We are happy with what the athletes have been able to achieve here in India by doing the country proud.
“We want to thank the Federation president and our sponsors for making the trip possible, ” she said.
The scribe added that Nigeria also qualified for the finals of the men C1 and C2 events that would hold later on Sunday.
She said that Goodluck Gbamire and Richard Pere-Permotei would be up against other finalists in the two events.
