Association commends Badaru, CBN, for support to dry season farmers in Jigawa.

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) Jigawa Chapter, has commended Gov. Muhammad Badaru, and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), for granting loans to dry season farmers in the state.

Alhaji Idris Maiungwa, AFAN’s Chairman, Jigawa said in Dutse on Thursday that Badaru, in collaboration with CBN, granted unsubstantiated sums as soft loans to dry season farmers.

He said only the bona fide members benefited from the credit facility and they had  made good use of it.

Maiungwa pledged the association’s support to the state governor, to boost agriculture and ensure food security in the country.

Rice farming under the CBN Borrowers’ Anchor Programme was going on in all 21 Local Government Areas of the state, with an estimated yield of 1.2 million metric tonnes per harvest.
