BREAKING: FG suspends Ruga settlements project

Reports have said that the Federal Government has decided to suspend the controversial Ruga settlement for Fulani herdsmen project.

President Muhammadu Buhari may have decided to suspend the idea because of the public outcry and “seeming misconception” it generated, a presidency source said, according to Thisday newspaper.

“The president, after consultations with stakeholders… has resolved to put away the idea for a thorough review and well acceptable approach to the menace constituted to national security by the constant clashes between herdsmen and farmers,” it added.

Channels TV quoted a presidency source as saying that an official announcement would be made any moment from now with detailed explanations.
