Odion Ighalo goal after three minutes helped the Super Eagles to beat the Tunisia  side 1 – 0 in Cairo, for Nigeria to finish the AFCON in Egypt as third-place winners.

Amaraizu added that  the Eagles victory was a great consolation to the country.

“”We thank God for answering our prayers in giving us the grace to win this last match.

“”At least we have the bronze as our consolation as a nation. This is also good,’’ he said.

Ifeanyi Okonkwo said that the national team showed determination even in the face of overwhelming pressure by the  Tunisians.

““It was a good display of the fighting spirit of Nigeria.

““It is good that the team have something to show for their efforts and strive in Egypt,’’ Okonkwo said.

Mike Okechukwu said that the handlers of the Super Eagles needed to sit down and carefully analyse all that went wrong with the team not getting to the AFCON finals.

Okechukwu, however noted that in spite of the team’s perceived mistakes and imperfections they made a statement on the tournament.

“I must commend them for a successful AFCON campaign especially for winning the third-place match,’’ he added.
