FG releases N20bn for East-West road project

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, announced that the Federal Government had released the sum of N20bn to aid quick completion of the East-West Road project.

The announcement was contained in a statement by the Head of Press and Public Relations at the ministry, Patricia Deworitshe.

The statement stated that the minister made the announcement at a meeting held in his office with the Managing Director of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority, Federal Ministry of Finance and the contractors handling sections one to four of the project.

It added that the project had lingered since 2006.
