Akinjide’s death, great loss to Nigeria–Monarch

Oba Olushola Alao, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Oyo State, has described the death of former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide (SAN), as a great loss to the country.

The traditional ruler said this in a statement made available on Tuesday in Ibadan.

Alao, who also is the Vice Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, described Akinjide’s death as a loss to his family and Oyo State.

“One of the greatest brains in the law profession, I will qualify Chief Akinjide as a  law technocrat and revered elder statesman from Olugbon dynasty,” he said.

The monarch, who said that the late Akinjide would be greatly missed, prayed to God to console, comfort and preserve all those he left behind.
