Mandela inspired most modern African leaders – Ohanaeze leader

The leadership of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide (Youth Wing) has joined the world to mark the Nelson Mandela International Day to celebrate the virtues of freedom, justice and democracy the South-Africa’s first black President, Nelson Mandela stood for, yesterday.

The President of the group, Arthur Obiora, in his tribute, extolled Mandela’s good virtues, saying he inspired most modern leaders in Africa, aside setting standard for human rights activism and freedom fighting.

Obiora lauded the United Nations for according such a worthy recognition to Mandela, whom he pointed out, is a role model for African youth in particular.

Obiora, who is also the Deputy Youth President of Coalition of All Ethnic Groups of Nigeria, called on all freedom fighters to remain focused on their agitation and take lesson from the life of struggle against odds, as championed by Mandela.
