Society of engineers donates borehole to Rimin Gata community, primary school

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kabuga Branch, in Kano, donated a motorised borehole on Saturday, worth over N2 million, to Rimin Gata special Primary School and community.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the motorised borehole in Kano, the NSE President, Mr  Babagana Mohammed, said the donation was made as part of the NSE’s mandate to its host community.

“The project was donated by NSE Kabuga, Kano Branch, in honour of our mentor, late Mr. Ibrahim Khaleel-Inuwa,” he said.

Mohammed said late Khaleel-Inuwa was the 16th president of NSE and the first person from a Northern state.

He called on the community to maintain and take good care of the project, saying, “we will continue to make life meaningful for the people of the host communities in line with our mandate”.

On his part, the Chairman, NSE Kabuga branch, Mr Ibrahim Inuwa-Jidda, said the branch embarked on the community project, in an effort to improve lives in the immediate community, within the branch’s jurisdiction.

Inuwa-Jidda, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, NSE Kabuga Branch, Mr Aaron Aboshio, commended the Kano State Commissioner of Education, Mr Sanusi Kiru, for giving the branch the opportunity to serve its host community.

Also speaking, the Ward Head of Rimin Gata Quarters, Ungogo Local government, Alhaji Darda’u Yahaya, commended the NSE for the gesture, pledging the judicious use of the borehole.
