NCAT lauds Kaduna, police for reclaiming land

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has commended the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA) for reclaiming some sections of its land that was encroached on by developers for over two decades.

In a statement yesterday by the Deputy Chief Information Officer, Balarabe Mohammed, the institution also commended the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies that carried out the exercise, which affected over 160 houses.

The statement reads: “As you may be aware, NCAT has been awarded the Regional Training Centre of Excellence by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). This achievement will go a long way in proving our determination to being the best in aviation training, as this will create a better atmosphere for the training.

“The college intends to expand its runway to accommodate bigger aircraft in the nearest future. This can be used for, not just training, even commercial purposes, which will, in turn, provide job opportunities.”

According to Mohammed, this will improve safety to the neighbouring communities and help the college in securing its premises against external security threat.
