OAU student death: ‘Adedoyin not found guilty yet’

An Ile Ife group, Osun State, Ile-Ife United Front, has said that contrary to the campaign of calumny in certain quarters, the detained owner of the Hilton Honours Hotel, Chief Ramon Adedoyin, is a decent and illustrious son of Ife that should not be allowed to suffer unjustly.

In a statement signed by the President of Ife United Front, a community association made of Ife indigenes, Prince Joseph Eluwade, the group declared its support for Dr. Ramon Adedoyin.

Adedoyin is being detained over the death of Timothy Adegoke, the Obafemi Awolowo University MBA student whose death has been generating much controversy in the last few weeks.

Eluwade stated that he had known Adedoyin for over 50 years as a hard-working Ife indigene whose source of wealth could be traced by everyone.

“I know Adedoyin personally for over 50 years. We all know how he started Tutorial and many of us still call him that till today. The whole incident is very unfortunate. He is just a victim of circumstances and his enemies are capitalising on the matter to settle their personal scores with him.” He said

The Adedoyin we know is a devout Muslim, a philanthropist and has done Ife land proud in many spheres of life. To the best of our knowledge, he is equally well to do as he has many flourishing businesses within and outside Ile-Ife.”

The group urged everyone to wait for the police to conclude their investigations.
