UBA declares final dividend of 80k

UNITED Bank for Africa at the weekend announced its final dividend of N0.80 for every ordinary share of 50 kobo each (bringing the total dividend for the financial year ended December 31, 2021 to N1.00).

This is subject to applicable withholding tax, which will be paid to shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as at the close of business on Friday, March 18, 2022. The Bank’s Register of Members will be closed on Monday, March 21, 2022 to enable the Registrars prepare for payment of final dividend on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

According to the notice, the final dividend will be paid electronically to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as at close of business on Friday, March 18, 2022 and who have completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the Registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.

Furthermore, the bank said that shareholders who are yet to complete the e-dividend registration are advised to download the Registrar’s E-Dividend Mandate Form, which is available at http://www.africaprudential.com,complete and submit to the Registrar, any UBA Branch or their respective banks. Shareholders are also advised to update their records with the Registrar as may be required. The Shareholder Data Form is also available on the Registrar’s website. Duly completed forms should be returned to the Registrar or any UBA Branch or their respective banks.

Shareholders with dividend warrants and share certificates that have remained unclaimed or are yet to be presented for payment or returned for validation are advised to complete the e-dividend registration or contact the Registrar. However, the company’s annual general meeting will be held at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja FCT by 10.00am on Thursday April 7, 2022. Attendance by Proxy is subject to the Government’s restrictions on public gathering in line with the Covid-19 health protocols.
