Meet confirmed speakers for OTC 2022 – PETAN

Nigeria’s largest association of indigenous technical oilfield service companies, providing specialised services to the upstream and downstream sectors of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry (PETAN) is set to lead Heads of Industry to this year’s prestigious Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).

Featuring two panel sessions on the Nigerian Energy and supportive industries themed Energy session themed ‘Energy Transition and the Future of Africa’ and an African Local Content Collaboration session themed AfCFTA: Cross-Border Service Integration As Enabler of Project Delivery in the African Oil and Gas Industry’, both sessions will have key speakers from Nigerian and other African countries.

A statement by the Publicity Secretary to PETAN, the leader and organiser of the Nigerian Delegation to the event, Dr. Lucky Akhiwu, states that key attendees from Nigeria include H.E. the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva; the Chairman, House Committee on Local Content, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Legor Idagbo; the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Mr. Mele Kyari; the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Wabote; the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe.

Others are the MD/CEO of Oilserv Limited and sponsor of the first panel session, Engr. Emeka Okwuosa; the Executive Secretary, Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF), Dr. Bello Aliyu Gusau; the Chairman, Platform Petroleum (sponsor), Chief Barr. Dumo Lulu Briggs; Vice Chairman, Platform Petroleum, Mr. Austin Avuru; Vice Chairman of PETAN and CEO, Radial Circle Group, Mr. Ranti Omole and PETAN Ex-officio and MD/CEO, Aftrac Limited, Ms. Patricia Simon-Hart.

Confirmed speakers from other African countries include the Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO); Dr. Umar Farouk Ibrahim; the Chairman/Founder, Association of Tanzania Oil and Gas Service Providers (ATOGS), Honorable Abdulsamad Abdulrahim; President of the Mozambique Chamber of Local Content, Mr. Elthon Chemane and Manager, African Partner Pool (APP), Invest In Africa, Senegal, Mr. Ibrahima Talla while more are being expected.

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is where energy professionals meet to exchange ideas and opinions to advance scientific and technical knowledge for offshore resources.

The event is scheduled to hold at the NRG Park, Houston, Texas from May 2 – 5 2022.
