No fewer than 39 crash victims have so far benefited from the Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) accident victims rescue intervention project in partnership with the M. Kukoyi Foundation (MKF).

Achunine said that the targeted beneficiaries for the intervention project expected to run for three months was 42.
“The duration for this project is three months with target to reach more than 42 beneficiaries across Lagos State,” he said.
He disclosed that the 39 beneficiaries so far were drawn from scores of critically injured Road Traffic Crash (RTC) victims, adding that the victims accessed the intervention services within 24 hours of the crash occurrence.
He also disclosed that the partnership was wholly funded by MKF, which was a U.S.- based Non-Profit Organisation that engaged in several humanitarian initiatives in Nigeria.
He added that HEI, since inception, had supported no fewer than 1,700 indigent and vulnerable patients and accident victims across Lagos and beyond.
Achunine, commended the Board of MKF Foundation for their unrelenting support to the social well-being of Nigerians.
He noted that the existing MoU HEI signed with FRSC, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi , FMC, Ebute Metta and selected hospitals in Lagos State would enhance chances of prompt resuscitation and stabilisation of crash victims when taken to these facilities.
Meanwhile, Dr Mobola Kukoyi, Founder, MKF, noted that avoidable deaths from road crashes was becoming an existential threat to young people in Nigeria.
Kukoyi stressed that in view of this, urgent and broad-based action was needed by all to address the malady.
He, therefore, encouraged other corporate organisations as well as public-spirited Nigerians to partner with HEI so as to continue providing rescue service to accident victims.
