NEF distributes food to indigent homes

By Charles Okonji
Worried over increasing hardship in the country, Nonso Ezeagu Foundation (NEF) has kicked off its Food Outreach programme aimed at feeding millions of the less privileged in the country.
Ezeagu who disclosed this to the media noted, that the feeding program which the foundation started with Yimitu Village in Waru, Abuja, during the Easter celebration period will continue in some other parts of the the country.
He noted that he was moved with passion to feeding the less privileged, adding that poverty alleviation and women and the vulnerable empowerment were part of the foundation’s key objectives.
According to him, “The outreach started at the village head’s palace, where I briefly talked about NEF and why we are holding the outreach. The next stop was at a field where we distributed food packs to women and children; we served a hundred bags of food and drinks.
“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen smiles so big or as big as laughs and cheers from the recipients. This gave NEF team and me much fulfillment.
“About an hour after we left Yimitu, I got a call from the Village Head, thanking us profoundly for NEF’s magnanimity, stated that he had never seen his people so happy in a long time.”
He pointed out that plans to host more food outreaches during festive periods to support families in hard-to-reach communities with decent meals, we’re ongoing.
The founder called on good spirited Nigerians to emulate this gesture, soliciting support locally and internationally.
