376 evacuees arrive Abuja from Sudan

A total of 376 stranded Nigerians evacuated from war-torn Sudan to Egypt arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday.

The 376 evacuees were the first batch who arrived Argeen border last week Wednesday, April 26 for airlifting in Aswan Egypt.

They arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

However, Air Peace plane arrived 11:35pm with 282 passengers, while NAF C130 arrived with 98 passengers.

The Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, had revealed that the first batch of those evacuated from Sudan would arrive in Nigeria Wednesday night.

She made this disclosure on her Twitter handle on Wednesday.

She tweeted, “Finally, homeward bound as the NAF C-130H aircraft has departed Aswan and is expected to touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja by 2340hrs (11.23 pm) tonight. #Sudan. We pray for journey mercies.”

The NIDCOM boss on Saturday disclosed the Mission in Egypt was making arrangements for the payment of visa fees for stranded Nigerians at the border of the country
