APC National Chairman mourns ex-House of Reps Speaker Na’Abba

The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has expressed his condolences to the family of the late former speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba.
The 65-year-old politician was reported to have died in Abuja on Wednesday morning.
According to family sources, the late 8th Speaker of the House of Representatives battled with an undisclosed ailment for a long time before his demise.
Ganduje, in a tribute issued by his Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, described Na’Abba as a thoroughbred politician and legislator who meant well for the country.
He also recalled the pivotal role played by the former chieftain of the opposition the Peoples Democratic Party when he served as the Speaker to entrench the independence of the legislative arm of government, even in the face of provocation by the executive arm.
“His rich experiences and doggedness even when faced with the risk of impeachment were contributory to whatever achievements we recorded at the National Assembly today. He diligently served Nigeria. His wit, intellect, diligence and warm personality were legendary,” he stated.
Continuing, Ganduje prayed to Allah to grant him Aljana Firdaus and grant the entire members of his family, the people of Kano State and Nigerians the fortitude to bear his loss.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the remains of the former Speaker will be buried in Abuja later on Wednesday, according to Islamic rites.
