World Food Day 2024: Capacious Farms & Foods launches arts, essay contest

As part of activities to mark the 2024 World Food Day, Capacious Farms & Foods Nigeria has announced an Arts and Essay Contest for Junior Secondary School students aged 11-14, themed “Feeding Our Future: Innovating for a Healthier World.”

Speaking to a select journalists, the Managing Director, Capacious Farms & Foods Nigeria, Chi Tola,  the event will take place on  September 16 to October 16, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria and it is part of programme to celebrate of World Food Day.

“This contest aims to inspire the next generation to think critically and creatively about food security, sustainable farming, and agricultural innovation. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas and talents, with exciting prizes to be won.

“The event will include food exhibitions featuring diverse ethnic foods from across Nigeria, Arts exhibitions showcasing entries from participants and prize giveaways for winners and runners-up.

“We encourage embracing farming as a sustainable way of producing extra income and self-dependency. Opportunity to see diverse ethnic foods and learn about different cultures and chance to win exciting prizes and gain recognition,” Chi Tola emphasised.

The MD further stated that the company is seeking partnership from individuals/organisations to sponsor the contest, which is aimed at supporting young innovators and fresh ideas on achieving food security and sustainability.

According to her, “This will elevate brand through visibility across multiple media platforms and event materials. Make a lasting impact by empowering the leaders of tomorrow and strengthen community ties by aligning with a cause committed to sustainability, education, and positive social impact.

“We welcome sponsorships in various forms, including financial contributions, media partnerships, in-kind donations, and more. Sponsors will receive premium recognition, logo display, exclusive networking opportunities, and tailored brand exposure.

“By sponsoring this contest, you will play a vital role in nurturing creativity and innovation in young Nigerians, promoting sustainable food practices, and cultivating a brighter, healthier future.”

She pointed out that Capacious Farms & Foods is dedicated to providing quality and affordable farm produce and value-added products while innovating in agriculture, sustainability, and community development.
