Buhari to restore OML 46 to Bayelsa

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday, said he will restore the Oil Mining License, OML 46, to Bayelsa State with “promptness and immediacy.”

“I will respond to your requests as quickly as possible,” Buhari said in an audience with Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Diri who visited the President in the company of his Predecessor, Senator Seriake Dickson had tabled three requests before Buhari.

According to a statement signed by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, they include: the Federal Government’s take over the Bayelsa State Medical University, a speedy completion of three Federal roads in each of the Senatorial Districts; and the restoration of the Oil Mining Licence, “OML 46” to Bayelsa State, which he (Diri) said was unjustly revoked and awarded to a private company.

The statement is titled ‘President Buhari Assures Governor Diri of a good listening ear to Bayelsa State.’
