Rano Air set to start flights as NCAA grants airline AOC

After a rigorous five- phase process, Nigeria aviation now has a new entrant, Rano Air which received its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) April 13, 2023 from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA).

The airline set to commence operations soon on eight domestic destinations have gotten approval to operate return flights domestically to/from, Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna, Sokoto, Gombe, Yola, Maiduguri and Asaba and had secured four EMB-145LRs to start commercial operations before year-end

Founded in 2019, Rano Air initially applied for permission to operate scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo services within and outside of Nigeria in mid-2020 and the re-applied for an air transport licence in February 10, 2021, following its initial application in mid-2020.

Rano Air is owned by Kano-born oil billionaire Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, the executive chairman and CEO of holding company A.A.Rano Group.
