Tribunal sacks Edo PDP lawmaker, declares APC candidate winner

The Edo State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin, on Friday sacked Destiny Enabulele of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He was declared winner by Independent National Electoral Commission as winner of the Ovia South West constituency election in on March 15.
The tribunal declared the APC candidate, Sunday Aghedo, as the rightful winner of the election.
The tribunal held that the petitioners, Aghedo and his party were able to prove their cases beyond reasonable doubt to earn victory.
Aghedo and the APC had dragged Enabulele and the PDP before the tribunal, challenging the declaration of Enabulele as the winner of the election by INEC.
They claimed that the election was marred by irregularities, malpractices and non-compliance with the Electoral Act amongst others.
