Dambazau directs services under Interior Ministry to form polo clubs

The Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd),  on Sunday directed all the services under the ministry to form polo clubs within the next six months.

Dambazau gave the directive at a Peace Polo Tournamanet organized as part of activities for the 2018 Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA) in Kaduna.

The minister lauded the effort of Nigeria Immigration Service for pioneering the formation of polo club among other services in the ministry.

Dambazau, a former Army Chief said polo would benefit personnel of the services to be physically fit and promote discipline.

”Polo is one of the important games for the Armed Forces, so I want to use this opportunity to encourage all our services to form a polo club.

” This is a matching order to all the services that are there. I want to assure you that in the next six months all the services will have a formidable polo team.

”Polo is a team event and it helps the officers to imbibe disciple and endurance.”

Speaking earlier,  the President, Kaduna Polo Club, Suleiman Abubakar solicited the support of the ministry and its services in upgrading existing polo facilities in the state.

”We recently celebrated 100 year of polo in Kaduna state and we are embarking on upgrading of the facilities.

”We also urge all services to embrace the sport for greater performance,” he said.
