MIGA 2018: Police Force’s Sports Secretary says team will strive to win more medals

By Elizabeth ADENUGA

Mark Balogun, the Nigeria Police Force’s Sports Secretary, on Wednesday said Team NPF would do more to win many medals at the ongoing 2018 Ministry of Interior Games (MIGA) in Kaduna.

Balogun said in Kaduna that the Police team was very prepared for the games tagged “2018 MIGA’’.

“The Nigeria Police team are very prepared for this game and we are in high spirits. We are ready to top the medals table.

“We are prepared to dethrone the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), because we have the best sportsmen and women in Nigeria and we have been the one producing athletes for Nigeria and the world.

“We still have the capacity to do what we know how to do best.

“We have always been the hub of athletes for Nigeria and we will continue to maintain that position,’’ he said.

Balogun said this Games was going to be different from the first edition in 2016, because the preparations were better.

“Then, we came second, and that was because we were not prepared for the Games.

“In fact, we did not take the Games serious. But, this time around, we are prepared to show the others that we remain the father by the Grace of God,’’ he added.

The 2018 MIGA will end on Sunday.
