Ethiopia appoints KPMG in Ethio Telecom privatisation

Ethiopia has appointed a transaction adviser, KPMG in the privatisation process for state-run Ethio Telecom, a senior finance ministry official said.

State Minister of Finance Eyob Tekalign Tolina said on Thursday in Addis Ababa that the international consulting firm, KPMG, would help with a process aimed at selling off stakes in the telecom.

Tolina said that another adviser would be selected in coming weeks to oversee licensing in the telecoms sector.
