Jos Trade Fair: Exhibitors offer 30% discount to attract visitors

Some exhibitors at the ongoing Jos International Trade Fair have offered 30 per cent discount on some of their products in order to encourage more customers to patronise them.

Some of the exhibitors said at the fair ground on Wednesday that the gesture was a marketing strategy to attract more visitors to the event.

Miss Cynthia Udem who sells kitchen utensils and ladies wears at the fair said that the discount would encourage people to come to the arena to shop.

‘’ We are offering 30 per cent discount on every purchase made at our store to encourage people to come in large numbers to buy our products,” Udem said.

Mr Oyenkachukwu Uzor who deals in baby wears , ladies and men outfits, also said he had offered 30 per cent discount on his goods .

‘’I came all the way from Kwara. I paid heavily for transportation, but I am still offering my customers 30 per cent discount because I am not just after the profit but more interested in promoting my business, ‘’ said Uzor.

Another exhibitor, Mrs Fatimah Kajiya, who also sells kitchen utensils, also said she had slashed off 30 per cent of her products’ prices in order to attract more customers.

Some customers, Miss Tina Ebe and Mrs Mary Abraham, commended the discount, saying it was a great opportunity for them to buy unique things and at affordable rates at the fair.

The fair which commenced on Oct. 10, was declared open by Gov. Simon Lalong, and would end on Oct. 27
