The Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday beat the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-0 in their Pre-Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) friendly match, at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

A first half brace from captain Rasheedat Ajibade saw the Nigeria take a 2-goal lead into the half-time break. Ajibade opened the scoring in the 28th minute through a penalty she won and converted.

Then in the 43rd minute, a brilliant pass from Omorinsola Babajide picked out the former Atlético Madrid forward in the box and she made no mistake to complete the double.

The match, played with intensity and tactical discipline from both sides, saw the Super Falcons demonstrate their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.

The match, however, finished 2-0 in favour of Nigeria, their 15th victory in 21 meetings against Cameroon.

The win against a formidable African opponent like Cameroon serves as a significant boost for the Super Falcons as they continue their preparations for upcoming international engagements.

It allows the coaching staff to assess player form, test new strategies and fine-tune combinations ahead of the WAFCON tournament in Morocco.
