In a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Lagos State government has decided to shutter night clubs and bars.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this announcement on Friday 20th of March, 2020 during a press briefing in Lagos.

Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, announced this to newsmen in Ikeja after a closed-door meeting with religious leaders in the state on the issue of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Lagos State also announced the closure of all public and private schools in the state effective Monday, March 23, 2020.
