World Petroleum Congress commences in Houston, Texas

The 23rd World Petroleum Congress has commenced with opening ceremony and welcome reception, and with special remarks by Jeff Shellebarger, Chair, Organizing Committee; Galen Cobb, Chair, U.S. National Committee; and Tor Fjaeran, President, World Petroleum Council .

Delegations and CEOs continue to arrive including distinguished Congress speakers Amin H. Nasser, Darren Woods, Mike Wirth, and Patrick Pouyanné as registration numbers continue to rise beyond the 4,000 mark.

On the exhibition floor, special features such as the Innovation Zone presented by ConocoPhillips, Global Sustainability presented by BCG and Young Professionals presented by Hess are finalizing their remarkable stands.

The 23rd World Petroleum Congress looks forward to welcoming ministers, delegations, sponsors, exhibitors, partners and media to kickstart purposeful conversations impacting the future of energy, and influencing commitments that will go beyond the Congress.
