Meet Rita Shamiga, Benue State’s one-day governor to commemorate Girl Child Day

The Benue State Government celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child by appointing a teenager, Rita Shamiga, as the acting governor for one day.
The International Day of the Girl Child, celebrated every October 11, is observed to support more opportunities for girls and increase awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide.
The state government, on its X handle declared, “Meet Her Excellency, Hon. Rita Shamiga, one-day acting governor of @benuestategovt, on the occasion of International Day for a Girl Child.”
