Two terrorists’ commanders surrender to MNJTF

Two terrorists’ commanders have surrendered to the troops of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the Lake Chad region.
In a statement he released yesterday, the chief military public information, Lt. Col Abubakar Abdullahi, said the two terrorists’ commanders were of the Boko Haram faction of BaKoura Buduma.
He said the terrorists: Ibrahim Muhammed and Auwal Muhammed, alias Wanka, surrendered to the troops of Sector 3 MNJTF (Nigeria) on March 25, 2024.
Abdullahi said the feat is due to the intensified kinetic and non-kinetic operations targeting terrorist groups within Sector 3 MNJTF.
“The two individuals, active commanders operating in the Lake Chad Islands, made the decision to surrender amid mounting pressure from ongoing military actions,” he said.
According to the statement Ibrahim and Auwal Muhammed during preliminary investigation revealed their long-standing affiliation with the faction, “revealing that they had operated under the Bakoura Buduma -led faction for 15 years in Kwallaram, located in the Lake Chad Islands.”
Weapons surrendered include one AK 47 rifle, three AK 47 rifle magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm special, one magazine carrier and one mobile phone belonging to Ibrahim Mohammed.
Meanwhile Auwal Mohammed Wanka surrendered one AK 47 rifle, five magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62 millimeter special, one mobile phone, one magazine carrier, two hand grenades and one hand-held radio.
