COVID-19 takes a life and infects 47 others

Nigeria recorded 47 new COVID-19 infections and one related death on Friday.

The Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), reported on Saturday that the figures were generated in eight of the 36 states of the federation.

It stated that the new infections brought the number of infected in the country to 253,970 and the death toll to 3,140.

Lagos State recorded 22 of the new infections, while the FCT, Kwara and Osun State recorded five cases each.

Delta and Kaduna State had three cases each; Jigawa reported two cases, while Nasarawa and Rivers had one case each.

The NCDC also stated that 24 persons recuperated from the virus in the last 24 hours and had been discharged from isolation centres, noting that total number of recoveries stood at 230,317.
