TotalEnergies, others forecast better profits in Q2

AT the close of business yesterday, six different companies made their cooperate disclosures against fourteen on Monday. Three out of them, presented their forecast for the second quarter ended June 30, 2022.

TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc forecasted for its quarter two ended in June a profit after tax of N3.207 billion while its gross profit and revenue stood at N14.993 billion and N74.308 billion respectively.

Also, Trans-National Express Plc (Tranex) presented it second quarter forecast of N95.942 billion profit after tax and revenue and gross profit of N799.875 billion and N498.160 billion respectively.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance presented a forecast of N553.201 million profit after tax and N7.418 billion gross premium while UAC of Nigeria presented its Corporate Governance report to the Exchange.

However, investors transacted 754.933 million shares worth N3.638 billion exchanged in 4,330 deals while the twin market indicators both dropped 0.23 per cent each.

The market capitalisation and All-Share Index declined by N58 billion and 108.26 basis points to close at N25.414 trillion and 47,154.35 points.

On the price movement tables, sixteen stocks appreciated against twenty-eight stocks with price reduction. Niger Insurance Plc led the gainer stable with an increase of 9.52 per cent followed by Chi plc with a gain of 8.47 per cent. Others on the top five are Cutix, NGX Group and UPDC with price gain of 8.30 per cent, 6.97 per cent and 5.56 percent respectively.

On the losers table, Conoil and Jaiz Bank led with a drop of 10 per cent each followed by UPL, NEM Insurance and RT Briscoe with price drop of 9.97 per cent, 9.87 per cent and 9.68 respectively.
