TOOAN state chairman, Abiola, faults Oluomo’s reply to NURTW’s query

The State Chairman, Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), Alhaji Azeez Abiola (a.k.a. Istijabah), has said that Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya (a.k.a. MC Oluomo), was wrong exonerating himself from allegations in the query issued to him by the national headquarters.

He stated this, yesterday, while speaking with journalists at a press briefing in Lagos, stating that TOOAN and NURTW operate in harmony before Oluomo became the state chairman.

Abiola faulted Oluomo’s claim that he was appointed as zonal chairman of TOOAN on February 9 instead of November 6, 2020 as indicated in the letter given to him.

The TOOAN state chairman, while reacting to Oluomo’s response on his appointment as Lagos State trustee of NURTW, further stated: “I was given an appointment as one of Lagos State trustees of NURTW from Abuja to represent TOOAN in the national union body. I have the appointment given to me on June 3, 2020 and not February 9, 2022 as he claimed.

“I was also appointed the National Co-ordinator for NURTW/tricycle sectors nationwide on June 8, 2021 by the national headquarters in Abuja in a letter signed by General Secretary, Kabiru Ado Yau.”

Reacting to the response of Akinsanya on forceful takeover of local branches and the illegal splitting of the TOOAN sector in the state, Abiola said Akinsanya divided it into five zones, which is unconstitutional. He charged the state government to separate TOOAN from NURTW to ensure peace and harmony in the state.
