“No cause for alarm” Oborevwori assures his supporters, Deltans

The People Democratic Party’s gubernatorial flagbearer in Delta State Rt (Hon) Sheriff Oborevwori has on his worried supporters and Delta state as whole who are concerned over the spate of litigation that greeted his emergence as the party’s flag bearer at the just concluded primary elections in the State to relax, adding that there is no cause for alarm.

Oborevwori stated this in a brief chat with our correspondent at his Osubi, Warri country’s home, when he paid him a courtesy call over the weekend.

According him, Every success attracts envy and jealousy from different quarters who are small minded individuals.

He noted that majority of those instituting the court cases are not even members of PDP, emphasing that they lack the locus standi to do so, as the amended electoral Act doesn’t give them such privilege.

“Litigation is an unruly horse, hence those instituting cases against me cannot be sure of having the last laugh over the issues at stake, as I am not guilty at all.

“I enjoined my teeming supporters and party faithful not to lose sleep at all over the various court cases challenging my eligibility to contest the 2023 general election as they will all end in fiasco,” Oborevwori assured.

It will be recalled that some PDP faithful approached the Delta State High Court sitting in Bomadi and Patani to challenge the legibility of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to contest for the position of Delta State governorship.

The judge has rule that the case will receive an accelerated hearing in view of the importance of the case.
