Dangote Sugar factory will generate 1000 employment for Nasarawa host community- Official

The Dangote Group says it will commence civil works for the construction of its Sugar factory in Tunga, Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

A team s of two men from the factory, said it would employ 1000 people from the immediate community after taking off.

Mr Maryoud Elsunni, member of the team from the Headquarters of the Dangote Group, disclosed this when thei paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Abdullahi Sule in Government House, on Wednesday in Lafia.

Elsunni said Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman/CEO of the Dangote Group, had directed his contractor to handle the project.

He said when started, it would generate employment for over 1000 people from the immediate community.

He explained that the team would first undertake the construction of a bigger water pump station that would provide water across 15, 000 hectares, in addition to the already existing water pump station catering for 600 hectares.

“Soon, we will bring some people here to start. It will create direct employment for the local people.

” The contractor is coming with some highly skilled personnel but a lot of the host community people will be engaged.

” Unlike contractors that will come with their workers, this one will engage thousands of local people to build these structures,” he said.

Responding, Gov. Abdullahi Sule said the essence of bringing investments like the Dangote Sugar Refinery, is to bring wealth for the people of the state.

Sule said that the factory would create jobs and improve on the standard of living of the people of the state.

The governor restated his administration’s continued commitment to create an enabling environment for investment and other business activities to thrive
