EFCC grills four NCAA chiefs over alleged N2bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested four top officials of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority over alleged N2bn duty tour allowance fraud.

Impeccable sources within the commission told our correspondent that the officials were arrested between Thursday and Monday.

Those arrested were Director, Finance and Accounts, NCAA, Bilkisu Sani; Deputy General Manager, Treasury, Hart Fimienye; Deputy General Manger (Management Accounts), Obene Turniel, and General Manger (Accounts and Stores), Nathaniel Kaainjo.

It was gathered that Kaainjo was taken into the EFCC custody last Thursday while others were arrested on Monday.

It was alleged that the NCAA officials illegally paid themselves and others Duty Tour Allowance in excess of N2bn.

A source said, “Mr Kaainjo was taken into our custody on Thursday, March 16, 2023, and others were arrested on Monday, March 20, 2023, and they are being grilled by a team of operatives at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters, Abuja.”
