Intending Hajj pilgrims to pay N2.9m –NAHCON

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria on Friday announced 2023 hajj fare regime.
In a Twitter post on the official handle of the commission, which was sighted by our correspondent on Friday night, the commission announced eight different fares depending on the location of the intended pilgrim.
It stated that pilgrims in the Maiduguri and Yola departure centre in the North-East would pay N2.89m, including their $800 Basic Travel Allowance.
For other northern states, it gave the cost as N2.91m, while that of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states was given as N2.99m.
The commission disclosed that participants from the southern part of the country which include Edo State and the entire South-South and South-East zone would pay N2.97m.
While pilgrims from Ekiti and Ondo zones are required to pay N2.88m, those from Osun State would pay N2.99m while those from Cross River State would pay N2.94m.
It added that April 21 was chosen as the closing date for remittance of hajj fares.
