South West Youth Parliament awards NYSC Director

The South West Youth Parliament (SWYP) has conffered an Award of recognition for excellent leadership on Mr Omotade Ayodele Folorunsho, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director, Corps Welfare and Health Services.

The SWYP was the apex body governing the youth of South West region in Nigeria.

The award presentation took place at the Director’s office at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters (NDHQ) with NYSC Deputy Directors, senior members of staffs and SWYP leaders from the six geo-political zones nationwide in attendance.

Conferring the award, speaker, SWYP, Hon. Temitope Joseph said that Omotade was recognised for his unrelenting contributions towards youth and students developmental projects.

He said his distinctive leadership style and humble accommodating spirit conformed to the Parliament’s criteria for conferment of noble award on any recipient.

“We have been following Director’s career trajectory and the Parliament is convinced that Mr Omotade is deserving and eminently qualified for this Award.

“The Award was in recognition of Director’s track record of excellence in career, hard work and unequalled enthusiasm towards the delivery of quality and efficient welfare services to the teeming corps members and administrative service to the scheme and the nation at large” Joseph said.

Acknowledging the award, Omotade who has been a recipient of many awards from various youth bodies (social and religious) thanked SWYP for finding him worthy of this honour.

He said that reward of excellence means more hard work and promised to do more for the youth and humanity in general.

In a vote of thanks, Mr S Aroni, Deputy Director, Discipline & Merit said that the award did not come as a surprise as Omotade’s antecedents and numerous works speak for him.

Aroni hinted that the honour was not just for the Director but to all staff of NYSC Corps Welfare and Health Services Department.
