Lawyer advocates stable electricity supply to boost economy

Mr Yusuf Abdullahi, an Ilorin based legal practitioner, has called on the Federal Government to provide stable power supply to boost the country’s economy.

Abdullahi, who made the call in Ilorin on Friday , said that electricity supply was key to economic growth.
According to him, most businesses in the country can only survive through stable and consistent power supply.
“Government at all levels must invest on electricity to boost the country’s economy. Most businesses are suffering because of lack of electricity supply.
“Electricity should come first before any other agenda. Most industries cannot survive without stable electricity.
“Prioritise electricity and witness a significant turning point in the country’s economy. Enough of investment in diesel and petrol for the giant industries,” he said.
The legal practitioner also called on government to support small medium entrepreneurs through loans.
He said that business owners and entrepreneurs deserved improved loan conditions to expand and take their businesses to next level.
