Berom Youths allege plot to invade Plateau villages

Berom Youth Moulders (BYM) has urged residents of Mangu, Barkin Ladi, Bassa and Riyom LGAs of Plateau State to be on “red alert” as suspected bandits had declared the impending invasions as the “last battle” with no going back “from inflicting higher casualty on some named villages.”
The villages are in Barkin Ladi LGA, Gassa, Chit, Tapo, Nding, Rawuru, Sagas, Sagasan Nafan, Kwi and Wereng-Camp.Others, according to the BYM president, are Wereng, Kum, Byei, Jol, Tashek, Tanjol, Rim and Sara of Ganawuri.
The president Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), Barr Solomon Nwantiri, made the disclosure in a statement he issued in Jos, the state capital at the weekend.
He said the bandits had vowed that even if it meant all of them going down, they were determined to carry out the attacks.
“They have also declared, ‘No Harvest’ in Mangu, Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs, for there will be massive destruction of farmlands, especially late evening and midnight hours,” he added.He urged the people of these areas to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security operatives for prompt action.
