IPMAN to partner with FG on CNG Initiative
****Lauds FG on PCNG Initiative
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), says its ready to partner with the Federal Government on the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI).
Its President, Alhaji Debo Ahmed gave the assurance at the weekend while commending government’s initiative on the alternative to petrol.
It would be recalled that President ilmanBola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas lnitiative (PCNGI) to facilitate nationwide adoption of Gas-Powered Vehicles.
The Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday said the initiative was in furtherance of his commitment to easing the impact of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians by reducing energy costs.
Ahmed said the PCNG Initiative was a welcome development of the federal government as part of the palliative to consumer as alternative to petrol initiated in President Tinubu’s speech to the nation.
According to the President, “IPMAN is ready to partner with the federal government on this PCNG Initiative.
” For proper implementation, government should bring back the National Gas Expansion Program (NGEP) to continue its workshop program across the country.
” Also to align equipment suppliers with sellers to guarantee quality and standard for safety and durability of those equipments.
Ahmed said that IPMAN has the number of outlets across the nook and crannies of our country that can be encourage to use the station lubrication bays as conversion centers and have CNG
dispensing pumps.
“To make the conversion affordable the NGEP has a system of paying the conversion cost by installments at any time you purchase CNG anywhere, anytime across the country.
“In real time implementation of the President’s initiative, we urge President Tinubu to revisit the 25 billion Naira lifeline loan to marketers who want to establish LPG and CNG on their stations,” he added.
The President said that members of IPMAN is waiting for the roll out of PCNG Initiative.
