Ondo Assembly denies plot to remove dep gov

The Ondo State House of Assembly has denied reports that it planned to remove the deputy governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
There had been rumours of an underground plot to impeach the deputy governor, whose media aides were sacked recently by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu upon his return from his medical vacation abroad.
In an interview with our correspondent on Saturday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Olumide Oladiji, said the House was not planning any move against the deputy governor, while describing the social media reports on the matter as false.
The speaker said, “There is nothing like that, you know the social media can write anything they like, but it is not true. Nothing like that is going on. As I am talking to you, I’m in Abuja for the Speakers’ conference. So, there is nothing like that.”
In the same vein, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, denied the report, saying, “Nobody is plotting any move to impeach the deputy governor. We are busy with what will bring development to the state. What is of importance to us is to carry out our duties.
Aiyedatiwa had on Friday denied signing any resignation letter, declaring that he did not resign from his position and had no intention of doing so.
